Celebrity Tribal Tattoos
Tribal tattoos began thousands of years ago as early peoples used body
art as a means of cultural expression. Since then, nearly every
indigenous group has adopted a form of tattooing. Today, though, it
seems tribal body art has gone well beyond ethnic roots. Even prominent
celebrities choose to get tribal images as part of their body art
collections.
Pamela Anderson is known around the world for her beauty. However, few
fans know she sports a tribal tattoo on the small of her back. Other
leading ladies with tribal tattoos include Sandra Bullock and Monica
Cruz. Bullock wears her design, which is a horizontal band of tribal
lines, on her stomach, while Cruz has one on her shoulder. Then there’s
Jorja Fox from TV’s CSI. She has a tribal tattoo on her upper shoulder.
Other females outside the acting world who have tribal tattoos include
Olympic soccer star Natasha Kai. Kai chose to get a large arm design
that reflects her Polynesian heritage. Additionally, model Rebecca Loos
has a tribal sun on her stomach and another tribal piece on her lower
back. Ashley Roberts from the band The Pussycat Dolls wears her tribal
symbol on her lower back as well.
When it comes to tribal tattoos on celebrity males, the list is
extensive. Magician David Blaine has tribal designs on both his arms,
which nearly cover everything from his shoulders to his forearms. Boy
George took his own unique spin on tribal tattoos. He chose to have the
letter G tattooed on his neck and surrounded with abstract tribal
patterns. Meanwhile, WWE star “Edge” has a huge tribal sun on his left
shoulder. The bold design is done in black and red ink. Another
wrestling star, Billy Kidman, boasts a tribal tattoo in a rather unique
location, on his calf. Finally, singer Drew Lachey has a large tribal
piece on his lower back, while his brother Nick has a tribal tattoo on
his upper back.
Many stars have also opted for tribal armbands. Model Anna Benson has
one on her upper arm, which is especially bold because it uses a mix of
colors instead of basic black ink. Baseball play Jason Giambi also
sports an accented armband design. His connects to a massive skull on
his left arm. Meanwhile former boy band star Nick Carter wears another
tribal armband, although his is much simpler in design. Even playboy
model Nicole Narain wears a tribal band. Hers is joined with some
Japanese kanji symbols.
Tribal tattoos are clearly very popular. If you want to get one,
consider looking to some of these celebrities for inspiration. Just
remember, a tattoo should always be an expression of individuality.
